Artist Spotlight: Anabel, Lisa and Valerie Ho and the Vancouver Chinese New Year Parade

As we ring in the 2013 Lunar New Year, Vancouver’s China Town prepares for the 40th Annual Chinatown Parade on February 17, 2013. The parade will feature dancers from the Vancouver Academy of Dance, where I am a proud faculty member. Heading up this major operation are three dear friends and colleagues, Anabel Ho, Valerie “Miss Vee” Ho, and Lisa Ho. These three sisters are carrying on the legacy started by their mother Maria Mimie Ho, when she first started Vancouver’s Chinese New Year Parade in 1968. Continue reading.
