Grants/Scholarship

The Maria Mimie Ho Foundation’s biggest endeavor is the Annual Chinatown Parade in Vancouver. The Foundation provides workshops in Chinese dance to various institutions in the Vancouver area. The foundation provides costumes and training for students and adults that would like to participate in this community event and learn about Chinese culture. Past participants have included students from Templeton Secondary School, Norquay Elementary School, Strathcona Community Centre Dance Program and Leadership Program, and employees from Shoppers Drug Mart.

The Maria Mimie Ho Foundation also provides an annual scholarship to a top graduating student in the mandarin language program at Templeton Secondary School who shows a commitment to community service and stewardship. We are working hard to extend this scholarship program to other schools.

Our scholarship winners for previous years:
Kimberly Feng, Templeton Secondary School 2011
Erica Wong, Templeton Secondary School 2012

Workshops

The Maria Mimie Ho Foundation hosts educational cultural workshops for people of all ages.  Both children and adults can learn about Chinese dance in a comfortable setting with qualified instructors.  The workshops are most popular with schools, but can also be done for corporate office staff as a way to develop team building skills.   If your organization is interested in having a workshop, please contact us at mmhofoundation@gmail.com
